Graduation Advisory: Travel, Parking, and Web Streaming Information (Posted November 28, 2025)
Due to heavy traffic, all graduates and guests are advised to travel early on 5 and 6 December to ensure timely arrival, as activities and programs will start on time.

 UPOU Holds 29th Commencement Exercises (Updated November 27, 2025)

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is holding its 29th Commencement Exercises on 6 December 2025 at the UPOU International Convention Center (ICC). With the theme “Constancy, Change, and Co-existence,” the ceremony honors graduates from the First, Second, Third, and Midyear Semesters/Trimesters of AY 2024–2025. The ceremony recognizes their achievements in completing their programs through open and distance learning.

Pre-Graduation Activities

5 December 2025 | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Faculty Recognition Programs at the ICC
  • UPOU Alumni Orientation Sessions at the CCDL
  • Document Processing and Graduation Program Distribution at the AVR
  • UP Sablay, UPOU Pin, and Hood Distribution at the Main Building Lobby
  • Optional Portrait Photoshoot at the Learning Commons
  • General Rehearsal at 3:00 PM, ICC Auditorium

Graduation Day Highlights

6 December 2025 

  • 1:00 PM – Welcome Drinks Reception at the UPOU Main Building
  • 1:45 PM – Official Photo Session at Oblation Plaza
    • Sequence: FED → FICS → FMDS
  • 2:30 PM – Final Attendance Checking at the MPH, CCDL, and Centennial Plaza
  • 3:30 PM – Start of Processional
  • 4:00 PM – Start of Commencement Program at the ICC

Candidates must follow the prescribed academic attire and maintain the solemnity of the ceremony.

General Reminders for Graduates

  • Due to space limitations, guests are advised to proceed to the designated viewing areas, which can be found throughout the campus. Guests may enter the ICC only during the Faculty Recognition Program on 5 December upon presentation of Guest Pass.
  • Academic attire must comply with UP guidelines. The Sablay must be worn with appropriate underlayers and minimal accessories.
  • University clearance is required only for the issuance of the TOR and diploma. Graduates may attend the ceremony even if their clearance is still being processed.

Diploma Release

  • First & Second Term Graduates (except MPM & MNE): 5 December 2025
  • Third Term & Midyear Graduates: June 2026
  • Health and safety services are available at the Main Building and the ICC, with an ambulance on standby.
  • All candidates must complete the Attendance Confirmation Survey. If you did not receive the email, contact [email protected].
